Engineered Group was established in 2002 by Mike DeForest and Mark Ecker. We design and install architectural finishes, decorative glass and window film across Florida.

01Our history
Engineered Group was established in 2002, by two veterans, Mike Deforest and Mark Ecker. Engineered Group established themselves as a solar panel company.
They quickly became one of the top solar companies in the southeast. In 2004 Florida was hit by multiple hurricanes causing billions of dollars in damage and leaving most homes in need of new roofs. With no roofs to install solar panels on, Mike and Mark re-invented their business by adding 3M security and solar film. 3M film was approved for hurricane protection at the time. This was just the product they needed to keep their business afloat. With 26 employees and an infrastructure to support their marketing and sales, Engineered Group rose to the top quickly.

US Navy, 1984 · FAA air traffic controller
Mark who joined the US Navy 1984 and served as FAA air traffic Controller for his 5-year commitment. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he found his niche in the sales arena enjoying a very successful career. However, he too was destined to be an entrepreneur
US Marine Corps, 1980 · F-4 fighter squadron
Mike who joined the US Marine Corp in 1980, being assigned to an F4 Fighter Squadron, leaving the Corp with an honorable discharge to become a police officer, while also running his own business. Always wanting to become an entrepreneur, he left the police force to follow his dream.

Mark Ecker, who joined the US Navy in 1984 and served as an FAA air traffic controller for his five-year commitment; and Mike DeForest, who joined the US Marine Corps in 1980 with an F4 fighter squadron and later served as a police officer.
