Engineered Group, was contacted by Rosa Mexicano in the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort to fix the incorrect installation of architectural finishes by a previous contractor in the restaurant. Our team put their skill, knowledge, and experience to work in remedying the issues that the previous contractor created.
Located inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, the Rosa Mexicano is a 5,500 square foot Mexican restaurant that offers “an elevated fiesta dining experience”. With locations across the Northeast and Las Vegas, this marks the Rosa Mexicano’s first Orlando-area location.

Our team put their skill, knowledge, and experience to work in remedying the issues that the previous contractor created.

Fixing the Previous Contractors Mistakes
Engineered Group took on the challenge of addressing the errors left behind by the previous contractor in their Architectural Finishes installation. The previous contractors’ lack of expertise, led to significant financial losses.
What We Needed to Fix
- The Architectural Finishes were installed directly to the dry wall without the correct
preparation not once but twice within 6 months. - The Architectural Finishes were installed vertically on the beams, which does not reflect accuracy.
- The lack of knowledge and preparation for these substrates created opportunities for
Architectural Finishes to separate at the seams and fall off the drywall.
Challenges
- Remove the existing Architectural Finishes without further damaging the drywall.
- Value engineer, a new substrate (1/8” Sintra panels) to cover the imperfections and
damages made to the dry wall. - Attach the Sintra panels correctly to the drywall, leaving the substrate flawless.
- Install the Architectural Finishes horizontally over the Sintra panels without showing any
seams on the beams.

Using Reatec Architectural Finishes
After discussing with the client the vision for their project, we landed on using Reatec architectural finishes to help create the space that they wanted. We used architectural overlay Reatec TC-4328 to cover the Sintra panels that we installed.
Reatec is an excellent option for clients looking to renovate their space or in new construction builds as it is lightweight, highly durable, affordable, and can be applied to both interior and exterior applications. There are over 1000s of patterns and finishes to choose from, including metal, wood, stone, and leather. The Rosa Mexicano used a natural wood grain to give their space a sleek, classic design.
